ISD maintains a minimum core staff to minimize overhead costs, and draws from a pool of qualified professional resources to implement practical solutions. ISD has very long relationships with these individuals, who maintain their own process management companies. ISD has trained them all and they have extensive experience working with ISD, our standard technical approaches, and software. This approach allows us to coordinate cost-effective process improvement solutions at lower costs to our clients. Our current list of external ISD team members:

Jack Lawrence

Mr. Lawrence became the Quality System Manager for Orbital Sciences Corporation Satellite Systems Division in 2010.  Here he led his team in ISO9001, AS9100 and CMMI process improvement projects, audits and appraisals for the Satellite Systems Division.  In 2018 Jack moved to the Launch Vehicles Business Unit of what is now part of Northrop Grumman Corporation and began leading his team through ISO 9001 and AS9100 audits and CMMI appraisals across multiple Northrop Grumman Business Units. Mr. Lawrence joined ISD in 1996 as a Senior Consultant.  In his 15 years with ISD Mr. Lawrence developed and taught seminars, workshops and training courses for multiple maturity models, appraisal methods and process improvement techniques. Mr. Lawrence was a principal author of ISD’s Comprehensive Appraisal Method and Appraisal Wizard tool.  He helped develop the Lead Evaluator Course for the eSCM Capability Determination Method.  Jack has worked with many different types of organizations to apply process improvement principles to different lines of business in different operating environments. He has led or participated on appraisals through Maturity Level 5.

Tom Cagley

Tom Cagley is the president of Tom Cagley & Associates. He is a consultant, speaker, author, and coach who leads organizations and teams to unlock their inherent greatness. Throughout Tom’s career, he has focused on people, processes, and measurement to continuously improve the delivery of value. Tom has more than 20 years of experience in the software industry. He was previously the Vice President of Consulting at Premios (David Consulting Group) and the Metrics Practice Manager at Software Productivity Research. Earlier, he held technical and managerial positions in different industries as a leader in software methods and metrics, quality assurance, and systems analysis.

He is a frequent speaker (both featured and keynote) at metrics, Agile. quality, and project management conferences. His areas of expertise encompass management experience in a wide variety of methods and metrics: Lean software development, agile software development, quality integration, quality assurance, and the application of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI) to achieve process improvements.

Joseph Heary

Mr. Heary has over 30 years of Information Technology experience developing and maintaining software products as well as managing software development projects. Hands-on experience in full SDLC from requirements to deployment as well as auditing and control. He is the founder of Ivyhill Technologies and has delivered technology solutions to assist organizations in preparing and supporting their standard development processes.

Sheila Fucase

Sheila is a co-founder of IBP Solutions, specializing in model based process improvement. Sheila worked with Information Technology since 1995 and as a process improvement consultant since 1997. Has joined ISD Brasil since 2002 working as Senior Consultant for several process improvement programs, lead appraiser, CMMI instructor and as Project Management Office (PMO) leader. Has had hands-on experience with software engineering, including requirements development, solution design, coding, peer review, tests and implementation. Has worked as quality consultant and Engineering Process Group leader, focusing on process improvement initiatives based on Capability Maturity Models.
Has worked as Project Office team member, supporting the definition and implementation of organizational indicators and results tracking for IT projects and services operations (for example, Help Desk).  Has participated also in the definition and implementation of the prioritization process for system development services. From 2002 up to now, besides managing process improvement programs in several organizations, she has helped in the supplier selection process for Honda by developing survey questionnaires to collect information and participating in on-site visits for interviews and operational risks assessment.  Has managed the supplier selection process for Itaú Unibanco by managing stakeholders involvement, developing survey questionnaires to collect information and participating in on-site visits for interviews and operational risks assessment.

Mark Schilling

Mr. Schilling has been an independent consultant since 1996 with experience in the systems/software industry as an expert in appraisal, training, organizational change management, strategic planning, management consulting, service establishment, management, and delivery, and systems and software engineering services.   He has worked with over fifty organizations in various industries providing appraisal, training, and process implementation services using the CMMI Development and Services and CMM frameworks.  He has led over 70 CMMI SCAMPI and Benchmark appraisals from major corporations to small companies.
