Who we are
Integrated System Diagnostics Incorporated (ISD) is a US-headquartered, multinational corporation dedicated to the dissemination and successful application of model-based process improvement technology.
ISD was founded in 1994 as an original, fully endorsed spin-off of Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute (CMU/SEI), a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) sponsored by the US Department of Defense.
We outgrew our first offices in the basement of the SEI building long ago, but we remain a leading member of the SEI Partner Network and a key contributor to the SEI’s ongoing technological advancements. Our founders, full time personnel and affiliated consultants are all noted experts and accomplished practitioners in the field of model-based process improvement. Prior to shifting our focus to process improvement, each of us worked hands-on in the development and management of complex systems and software engineering projects. We do not, therefore, trade in academic ideals: we approach our engagements with a pragmatic, no-nonsense focus on helping you achieve your business objectives.
We are the preferred supplier to some of the most successful organizations implementing model-based process improvement today. Our clients represent a diverse set of companies spanning all major industry segments. While we are best known for helping global clients achieve and maintain high process maturity, we provide outstanding services to organizations of all sizes and at all stages of process maturity. What we do
Integrated System Diagnostics was founded on the belief that the integration and focused application of people, process, tools and technology is essential to business success. Our belief is confirmed by our eleven-year history of client successes and we are committed to bringing the benefits of our structured approach to your organization.
We offer integrated suites of training, appraisals, consulting services and software to support the implementation of model-based process improvement programs, whether working with the CMMI, the eSourcing Capability Model for Service Providers (eSCM-SP) or other models and standards. Our approach is proven to achieve results in a timely, cost-effective and risk-reducing manner. ISD resources are some of the most experienced in the industry, but our work is enabled by a structure that is far more than the sum of its parts. To a degree that is unparalleled in our market, ISD personnel function as an integrated, actively managed team, utilizing and refining shared processes, standardized intellectual property assets and the best available tools and technology. This allows us to deliver products and services that are unequaled in consistency, accuracy, quality and value.
ISD co-owns copyrights with CMU/SEI to the Software Capability Evaluation V3.0 appraisal method. Our staff actively participated on the CMMI Product Development Team as key contributors to the development of the Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI) V1.1. We continue to lead in R&D, having contributed to the development of ITsqc’s eSCM-SP and having developed our proprietary Comprehensive Appraisal Method (CAM), Integrated Systems Framework (ISF), and Appraisal Wizard and Model Wizard software products. Collectively, our innovations facilitate multi-model process implementation, allowing our clients to fulfill the range of compliance requirements placed upon all business today. Under increased regulation, compliance is no longer optional: it is legally mandated. For those clients with multidisciplinary requirements or unique standards, we perform full model and appraisal method R&D, including the development of associated training materials and all other elements required for successful program roll-out across your organization.
